ACTIVITIES
Villa Fjellheim is a great base for exploring and experiencing nature in Sognefjord and the home of the glaciers. There are lots of activities in Jostedal, or within one hour drive. We have listed a few.
E-biking
Rent an e-bike and explore Jostedal valley on your own. Ride to Styggevatnet 1000 meter above sea level, and pass Fåbergstølen mountain farm and beautiful steams on the way. Explore Krundalen and watch the amazing Bergsetbreen from your bike, passing charming houses and farms with grassing animals on your way.

Zipline
Fly through 3-5 ziplines. 4 in the glacier river canyon and then 1 last zipline between the forest trees. Ice Troll offers 3 different zipline experiences with different age limit av difficulty. If you want extra exzitment, swap the zipline harness for the rafting life-jacket and start white-water rafting! All in the same tour.
The biplane is in walking distance from the villa.
Glacier hike
Nigardsbreen is the most accessible glacier in Norway. Jostedalen also has several other glacier arms from Jostedalsbreen that are fully possible to visit with a guide.
Glacier hiking is possible from May to October. Experience the thrill of wandering about in blue ice and see the stunning landscape that has been created by the glacier over thousands of years.

Kayaking
In Jostedalen you can fulfil your dream of kayaking among icebergs! It is possible to kayak in several glacier lakes, beginning when the ice melts in early summer and ending in the fall.

Mountain hiking
If you want to go on trips on your own, you can stop by Breheimsenteret and obtain trekking cards that provide concise, useful information about your trip. This is a simple way to explore the wonderful routes of Jostedalen. They have many suggestions for nice trips you can take., like Myrhørna, Spørteggbu, Vangsen, Molden or one of the local "støls".
Rafting or canyoning
On its journey through Jostedalen and down towards Sognefjorden, the Jostedøla river offers exciting challenges. Different stretches of the river are well-suited to families, beginners, or thrill-seekers.
Experienced guides take you on rafting expeditions whose difficulty is graded 1–4. The lower age limit is 4 years.
Yoga retreat
Villa Fjellheim is a great place for a Yoga retreat. Every June we arrange a local retreat. If you want to arrange a retreat at Villa Fjellheim, please contact us.
There is room for up to 10 yogis at Villa Fjellheim, and we can arrange for a chef if needed.
Museums & Galleries
Visit the Breheimsenteret on your stay. This is a visitor centre for the Jostedalsbreen and Breheimen National Parks. The centre is our closest neighbor and visitors can learn about glaciers in our exhibition.

Snow shoeing
Experience the glacial foreland in winter. Our nature guides will take you on an informative walk across moraine ridges. Learn the glacier history and hear the dramatic stories. Ski touring
Experience the fantastic skiing in Jostedalen! The season is long and the proximity to the glaciers means that there are often good snow conditions. The most eager skiers come here to start the season already in October. In Jostedalen you can go cross-country skiing, forest skiing or summit the great peaks. Both alpine tours, avalanche courses and ski camps are offered, with professional guides.
The blue ice cave
Visit Nigardsbreen in winter on snowshoes or skis and experience the marvellous blue ice beneath the ice! Every year we examine the ice as we search for caves that may safely be visited, but each year is different. In certain winters there are large caves, at other times small ones. In any event, the magic of the blue glacial ice remains the same!
Urnes stave church
Travel to Solvorn, a beautiful little village by the fjord where you can swim in the fjord, or have a meal at the local cafe.
Travel on by ferry to Urnes to see the oldest stave church in Norway. Here you can get a guided tour, or you can wander around on your own, before traveling back or further along the fjord by car.
Ski lift
Sogn skisenter, is a humble skiing heaven. This ski center brings you amazing powder skiing as well as everything the winter Sognefjord has to offer. It is only a 45 minutes drive from Villa Fjellheim.
Sogn ski center has a great slope for children, or new skiers, free of charge.
Lustrabadet
This is one of Norway's most beautiful swimming facilities - located in Gaupne.
The water park contains 2 different children's pools, slides, a 25-metre pool, a wellness area with a grotto, a heated pool, saunas and outdoor pools. Here you can enjoy the fountain, air bubbles, massage and counter-current jets with fantastic views of mountains and waterfalls.
Lustrabadet is only a 35 minute drive from Villa Fjellheim.
